CBSE ONLINE CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMMES FOR TEACHERS/ DIKSHA ONLINE COURSES
All the teaching faculties attended the Online Capacity Building Programmes initiated by the Centre of Excellence, Thiruvananthapuram and other regions on various topics like Experiential Learning, Art Integrated Learning, Remodeled Structure of Evaluation, Assessment Techniques and Inclusive Education and on specific subjects in the month of April and May.
READING WEEK
Honoring the father of the Library Movement, the late P.N. Panicker, 19th June was celebrated as Reading Day and the following week as the Reading Week and the Reading Month was celebrated from 19th June to 18th July 2020. Various Online Activities like Book Review Presentation, Reading Competitions, and Summary Writing Competitions were held in the School for various categories.
FIT INDIA RUN
Students were encouraged to participate in the Fit India Run from 15th August – 2nd October 2020. The object of the programme was to encourage fitness and help all citizens get freedom from obesity, laziness, stress, anxiety, diseases etc. The concept behind the run was “It can be run anywhere, anytime!”
ALL INDIA INTER SCHOOL DON BOSCO BIBLE QUIZ 2020
Siyon Sinu of Class VII secured the 4th Position in the 10th edition of All India Inter School Don Bosco Bible Quiz 2020 organised by Don Bosco School Alakanda on 11th October 2020.
VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK
Vigilance Awareness Week was observed from 27th October 2020 to 2nd November 2020. This year, the theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week is ‘Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat (Vigilant India, Prosperous India)’. For inculcating greater awareness on vigilance in public life, Teachers and senior students were asked to take the e-Integrity Pledge through the official portal of Central Vigilance Commission website.
WEBINAR FOR TEACHER ON ART INTEGRATED LEARNING
A webinar was organized for the teaching staff on how to work on Art Integrated Learning and Art Integrated projects on 27th October 2020 from 02:00 pm to 04:00 pm. Mr Joji Paul, Teacher Trainer COE Thiruvananthapuram and Chennai Region enlightened the session speaking about the New National Policy of Education and the desired changes to bring in the Curriculum.
NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY
National Education Day was organised and celebrated through the virtual Media on November 11th 2020. The Class Teachers were entrusted with the responsibility to enlighten the students about the National Education Day Celebration and its significance.
SAHODAYA TRAINING ON ART INTEGRATED LEARNING
An online training was conducted for the teachers of Schools under Kottayam Sahodaya on 13th November at 02:00 pm. It was led by Dr Dinesh Babu the cbse authorised resource person of Centre of Excellence, Thiruvananthapuram.
